My Writing Journey

A really generic post title, but I'll delve here into my writing journey, so give me a chance!

Hi people!

I thought along with my introduction to me, I would do a deep dive into the very embarrassing and long winded journey of my writing so far. I get a lot of questions about this, so here are the answers!

My late grandmother (who btw is my idol) was a short story writer, and I grew up listening to her read them to me. My late grandfather (my other idol) also verbally loved telling stories. I also grew up with parents who loved books, so I was forever around books and stories, so I feel like story telling was a natural thing for me.

When I was around 8 years old, I started writing short stories and poetry. When I was in school I actually had a poem published in this little anthology of the “best poems of the school” - it was a very limited press thing, didn’t get sold in book shops and was just a bragging rights thing. But still ;) I think the poem was about dreams and colours or something… I should try and find it at some point!

I don’t really remember much about what I wrote after that, but I know I continued. My mum would bring home paper and pens and I would just write random things. Poems, short stories, ideas, that kind of thing.

And then I found fan fiction!
